LaPlace
LaPlace is a small town 14 miles East of Decatur on
State Route 36. Children ride school buses to Cerro Gordo
for grades K through 12. LaPlace offers city water, post office,
laundromat, heating and plumbing contractor, cabinet shop, beauty
shops, 2 churches and a community center building. The grain
elevator located in the center of town by the railroad tracks,
reflects the rural flavor of times gone by and county living.
